Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between the DENR and CBFM-PO Malimono Tree Farmers Association (MAMATFA) was successfully conducted on July 28, 2021 at PENRO Office, Surigao City, Surigao Del Norte. It was spearheaded by OIC, PENR Officer Alejandra B. Boiser together with CENRO Ruel E. Efren of CENRO Tubod and MAMATFA Chairperson Rev. Matrinilo J, Lucida and PO Secretary Jireh R. Labadan.

 

The Mainit-Malimono Tree Farmers Association (MAMATFA) recently became a beneficiary of the Eco-tourism Project under Gender and Development (GAD) livelihood that will be implemented at the TOP RIDGE of their CBFM area located at Municipalities of Mainit and Malimono, Surigao del Norte.

 

The Livelihood project on Eco-Tourism is planned to put forward series of activities such as camping and other outdoor activities within MAMATFA area providing alternative livelihood venture to its members particularly all the women.

 

CENR Officer Ruel E. Efren expressed his appreciation to MAMATFA for their valuable efforts of the project and amazed on the scenic view of the area which really potential for ecotourism since the first time personally visited the top ridge. Thus, OIC, PENR Officer Alejandra B. Boiser reiterated that the selection of beneficiary for the project is through the Regional Office and MAMATFA is a good performing PO based on records. Further, she also showed willingness to support the ecotourism project for development endeavours.
