DENR PENRO Surigao del Norte headed by OIC, PENR Officer Alejandra B. Boiser joins the celebration of World Wetlands Day which celebrated each year to raise awareness about wetlands.

As part of the celebration, personnel from Conservation and Development Section (CDS) of this Office represented by EMS-I Julie Anne B. Arreza conducted a Communication Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) Campaign in Brgy. Lipata, Surigao City. Discussions are in relation for today’s celebration about Wetlands; How do wetlands sustain; Threats; and how we can sustain our wetlands. It was participated by the Brgy. Officials of Lipata, Sk Officials, Youth and residents of Lipata.

Thus, this year’s theme is “Wetlands Action for People and Nature” which underscores the significance of our concerted actions in conserving our natural resources like wetlands that plays important roles like storing clean water for our use, providing a home for nature, keeping us safe from flood and storms.
