In line with the celebration of this year’s International Day of Forests, DENR PENRO Surigao del Norte headed by OIC PENR Officer Alejandra B. Boiser successfully conducted a tree planting activity on March 18, 2022 at Provincial Tree Park, Brgy. Ipil, Surigao City.

A total of 200 seedlings (Mahogany and Kalingag) were planted in the area with a total of Sixty (60) planters composed of 37 Female, 23 Male all personnel from this Office.

Thus, this year’s theme is β€œπ—™π—’π—₯π—˜π—¦π—§π—¦ 𝗔𝗑𝗗 π—¦π—¨π—¦π—§π—”π—œπ—‘π—”π—•π—Ÿπ—˜ π—–π—’π—‘π—¦π—¨π— π—£π—§π—œπ—’π—‘ 𝗔𝗑𝗗 𝗣π—₯π—’π——π—¨π—–π—§π—œπ—’π—‘β€ which is to raise awareness of the importance of alccl types of forests and importance of forests to people and their vital role in poverty eradication, environmental sustainability and food security.

Super typhoon Odette had brought huge destruction to Provincial Tree Park in Brgy. Ipil, Surigao City – an area which under the National Greening Program CY 2011 of the DENR. Thus, this Office designates the area as the priority venue for any tree planting activities for rehabilitation and restoration of the area.
